Survey highlights 'alarming' short-term outlook in financial planning

A survey carried out by independent financial advice firm deVere has highlighted a trend in short-term financial planning among potential new clients for advisers.

The deVere group found 82% of consumers who did not yet have an advisers did not plan ahead further than one year. Its global survey revealed that the trend in short-term planning cut across income brackets, ages and nationalities.
