Moneygate acquires stake in Spence and Spence

Tyneside-based advisory firm, Moneygate, has acquired a 'significant' stake in wealth management firm Spence and Spence.

Moneygate plans to acquire the business in full by 2016. Spence and Spence has offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow and it plans to expand its operations throughout Scotland with the help of Moneygate. It has a turnover of £1m and nine experienced advisers.  Chief executive Charles Spence and his management team will remain in place. Spence and Spence was founded 19 years ago and specialises in advising high net worth clients in both the private and corporate sector.
