IMA opts for ABI model for Managed sectors

The IMA is changing the Managed sectors to fall into line with the Association of British Insurers (ABI) fund categories.

The ABI and IMA sectors will fall under the ABI category names, with the exception of what was formerly the IMA Active Managed sector and ABI Mixed Investment 60%-100% shares. A new name has been created for this grouping - the Flexible Investment sector. This category allows fund managers to exercise significant flexibility over asset allocation and does not have a minimum or maximum for equities, the IMA said.
