'Most wanted' mortgage broker arrested

A former mortgage broker named by Crimestoppers as one of the UK's ten most wanted fraudsters has been arrested.

Misba Uddin, was sought for questioning by London Metropolitan Police after he allegedly submitted a number of fraudulent mortgage applications totaling £5.7m. Once the mortgages were processed, he was accused of transferring the funds into his own accounts. The FSA register shows a Mr Misba Uddin held controlled functions at Misba Properties Limited between 2004 and 2008, although his status is now 'inactive'. A final notice for his business shows its permissions were cancelled in December 2008 for failing to submit a Retail Mediation Activities Return. Uddin was arrested on 24...
