IFAs could have help with the paperwork from their local MP as part of a scheme to make law makers better understand the realities of running a small company.

The Forum of Private Business's 'Business Buddy' scheme has already signed up 102 MPs, including business secretary Vince Cable, shadow education secretary Andy Burnham and Green Party leader Caroline Lucas. MPs will be matched up with Forum members in their constituencies during Parliament's summer recess and will try their hand at various tasks and duties within the firm for anything from an hour to half a day.
