Cann caught up in volcanic ash disruption "nightmare"

Nick Cann, chief executive of the Institute of Financial Planning (IFP), has been forced to cancel a work-related trip to Taiwan as the ash cloud spewed out by an Iceland volcano continues to wreak travel chaos.

Cann was due to travel to Taipei via Hong Kong on 16 April with IFP president Barry Horner to attend a meeting of the Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB) International Council. He rescheduled the flight for tonight but this has also been cancelled. Cann will now not be attending the event. "What a nightmare. First they give us their banks to mess us up and now they send us their ash clouds to paralyse our airports," Cann says. "Iceland really is doing well with its PR at the moment.
