Paraplanner of the year calls on small 'traditional' IFAs to recruit help

Paraplanners should no longer be the preserve of the mid-to-large sized IFAs and would be a good investment for even one-man practitioners, the newly-crowned paraplanner of the year says.

Svenja Keller, an associate with London-based John Lamb Partnership, says a number of advisers at smaller firms are stunted because they stick with traditional methods including researching the market, delivering advice and administering the business themselves. Keller was rewarded for her efforts at John Lamb by receiving the Paraplanner of the Year award at the Institute of Financial Planning's (IFP's) 2009 conference and exhibition, held in Wales last week.
