Treasury Minister Kitty Ussher has resigned following revelations about her expenses claims.

Ussher was found to have 'flipped' her second home in order to avoid paying capital gains tax (CGT). Having previously worked at the Department for Work and Pensions, Ussher was appointed as Treasury Minister in Gordon Brown's latest Cabinet reshuffle. However, she has been forced to stand down just days after taking up the role due to scandal over her second home. The Daily Telegraph revealed Ussher had changed her designated main home to her constituency house in Burnley just one month before selling.
