FSA Top Gear visit branded 'waste of money'

The FSA has come under fire for using members' fees to fund large exhibition stands at "irrelevant" events including motor shows.

It displayed a double stand at the MPH and Top Gear Live show at Birmingham's NEC on 15 November and admits it often attends similar events when it believes regulated firms may be present. But advisers have dubbed the policy "a waste of money". Those who attended Top Gear say they only spoke to the FSA representative to ask what she was doing there. IFA George Chappell says: "The FSA had a double stand in a good location, but the girl manning the desk looked bored." "They said they were there to help small businesses with any queries but had only spoken to other curious IFAs attending...
