Delegates to this year's Dealing With Technology conference heard a number of predictions on different IT themes affecting the broker/dealer end of financial services.

Battles between different stock exchanges worldwide will lead to continued technology developments to lower costs and try to take business from each other. The LSE states on its own website it wants to partner Europe, but the question is how is this going to be achieve given the failure of the exchange to form lasting partnerships with, for example, Deutsche Bourse in recent years, delegates heard. Stephen Kimsey of Kimsey Consulting, pointed to research comparing 2004 with 1994, which showed real time data remains the top concern among those looking at IT in the trading environment. ...
