Providers and trade bodies who fail to communicate effectively with IFAs leaving them in the dark on product or industry issues should be named and shamed, according to progress from Royal Liver.
The protection provider’s calls follow a case study conducted by progress which suggests most advisers were unaware of changes made to critical illness (CI) cover over the last 18 months. It says ignorance among providers and trade bodies of how an adviser works on a day-to-day basis can leave them oblivious to any product or rule changes made. Progress says an assumption advisers regularly read emails, the trade press and in-house communications, or are told of any changes by sales consultants, is misplaced.
