ABI targets the vulnerable uninsured poor

The ABI will launch a campaign targeting the 35% of people in low income households without insurance.

The association says these households, earning less than £10,000 per year, need insurance most as they face higher risks from crime, fire and flooding. Today’s ABI Access for All report found just 44% of people in the poorest households purchase home contents insurance, compared to 82% with average incomes of £15,000-£30,000; while only a third had motor insurance and a quarter had purchased life insurance. The report also shows: Households with an income below £5,000 are 71% more likely to be burgled at least once, compared with households with incomes of £30,000 or more Arson rates ...
