Men more likely to hold onto debt, suggests the MarketPlace

Contrary to jokes about women and spending, new research suggests men are more likely to need to rein in their debts.

NOP research conducted on behalf of Bradford & Bingley’s the MarketPlace suggests over one quarter (26%) of men questioned are worried about the amount of debt they hold, compared with 17% of women. One third of men (33%) have admitted to making the odd purchases on the0ir store or credit cards AFTER they have consolidated their debts, compared with 28% of women. At least 6% of men and just 1% of women also admit to continuing to spend a lot on their credit and store cards after consolidating debts into a personal loan.
