Investment week survey shows wide variation in stock selection and index weightings

UK fund managers are actively moving away from index weightings in both special situation equity vehicles and mainstream UK growth funds. An Investment Week survey of the largest holdings in 10 of the most popular special situation or aggressive portfolios and 10 of the most well-known UK growth portfolios showed wide variations in both stock selection and weightings of FTSE 100 constituents. As expected, the UK growth funds have a higher propensity to move in line with the index.
