The Love Is… comic strip was launched more than 50 years ago. It was created by Kim Casali, a New Zealand cartoonist, who based it on a series of notes she produced for her future husband. Each strip consists of a single frame. "Love is…" appears in the upper-left corner, with the phrase completed beneath an illustration of an adoring couple.
