Reform UK (Reform), which has mooted a range of would-be policies including the Britannia Card and the end of inheritance tax, currently leads the polls and commentators have described it as a "serious political player".

With the next expected general election expected in 2029, should advisers be banking on another round of big business and tax changes under this fresh challenger after getting to grips with Labour inheritance tax (IHT) upheaval? Should Reform come into power, tax planning changes could be significant. Unveiled this year, some of Reform's policies have included a pledge to scrap inheritance tax (IHT) if they were to come to power and a Britannia Card policy to charge "high-net-worth" newcomers and returners £250,000 , with proceeds to be returned to Britain's "lowest-paid" full-time wo...
