'More competition' for platforms to be chosen by consolidators

FCA’s advice/guidance boundary review also a big theme

There is currently more competition for platforms to become the preferred choice for consolidators and bigger firms, according to The Lang Cat senior analyst Rich Mayor.

Speaking to Professional Adviser, Mayor said the two "big tracks" for advice platforms are consolidating markets and advice evolution. Mayor explained that there is more competition for platforms to become the preferred choicefor consolidators and other ‘big firms' in general. "There's still plenty of consolidators snapping up IFA firms, even if there's still massively more small IFA firms than bigger firms in terms of numbers of firms," he explained.
