'It's not always about fitting in' - WIFA nominee Maria Municchi on her career in multi-asset

It is widely known the finance sector has been short of diversity, though in recent years there have been some improvements. Here, M&G multi-asset fund manager and 2020 Women in Financial Advice Awards nominee Maria Municchi tells Professional Adviser how it is not always about fitting in as a minority.

Born in Italy, Municchi (pictured) moved to the UK for her masters degree in international management and finance. She says she wanted to experience how things were done in London and so she decided to stay, thus beginning her career at M&G as a fund manager assistant following a brief stint at Baring Asset Management.  Municchi worked her way up - and around, she would argue - the ranks before becoming multi-asset fund manager.
