Automatic-enrolment on the rise Next year will see the minimum contribution for automatic enrolment increase for the first time since the policy was introduced in 2012. Minimum contributions are set to increase from the current 2% of qualifying earnings to 5% on 6 April 2018. The base level will then rise again to 8% in 2019. The changes will inevitably mean more is being saved into pensions, and while some may be concerned about opt-out rates increasing, there is evidence to suggest there will not be a big problem.
