Millennials more likely than baby-boomers to want income not jackpot

Millennials are more likely than baby-boomers to prefer to win £1,000 a month for life, rather than a lump sum of £1m if they were to win the lottery, according to research by Just Group.

The research comes ahead of the National Lottery's new game, Set for Life, which offers a top prize of £10,000 a month for 30 years rather than a lump sum . The new game is designed to appeal to a different type of player, according to Just Group, which interviewed more than 2,000 people about whether they would prefer lottery winnings as a £1m lump sum, £1,000 a week for the rest of their life of a mix of the two .
