Gary Shaughnessy named Zurich Global Life CEO

The chief executive of Zurich's UK Life division, Gary Shaughnessy, has been promoted to head the division globally.

Shaughnessy (pictured) will succeed current global life chief Kristof Terryn, who will head up the general insurance business, in January. Zurich said it will announce a successor for Shaughnessy in the UK "in due course". Shaughnessy became UK life CEO in June 2012. He held the additional role of UK country head from 2014 and is also the interim chief executive of the global life business in the EMEA region.
