While it’s widely understood that we’re living for longer, recent ONS data adds a layer of nuance to this conversation that has a direct impact on those approaching or at retirement, writes Lorna Shah.

Our lifespans may have increased but, according to the data, both men and women in the UK spend just over 60 years in "good" health. For many, the reality is that a decline in health will take place in the prime years of later life and retirement.
