Not so long ago, investing was simple. You bought stocks if you wanted to take a bit of risk, bonds if you didn't.  Demographic changes have turned that equation on its head. Now we're all living longer, the maths just doesn't add up; for a comfortable retirement, savers are going to need something with a bit more firepower.  Enter the murky world of private assets. Unlisted equities, private debt, real estate and infrastructure could be the kind of things to push portfolios high enough to meet our new financial reality.
