A recent divorce judgement against the backdrop of family court delays has called into question the value of pursuing litigation. In Vince v Vince in December 2024, the High Court awarded a wife more than £40m after four years of wrangling between her ex-husband over the true value of his business assets (she was entitled to a 50% share due to her contributions throughout the marriage which allowed her husband to build his renewable energy business).
