I find it hard to believe sometimes, but I have been an adviser of one description or another for more than 25 years. Before I was independent, I started in direct sales in the late 80s after leaving the armed forces at the height of the Thatcher years, before spending some time in mortgage broking and, later, working as a financial adviser in a banking group.
