Aberdeen Adviser chief distribution officer Verona Kenny has warned of a “hugely worrying” financial literacy gender gap.
Kenny's concerns come as recent research commissioned by Aberdeen found a disparity in "net good" financial literacy scores between men and women who do not use a financial adviser. The research found that six in ten women who use an adviser reach a good level of financial literacy, compared to 48% who do not access advice. In contrast, 69% of men who use an adviser had a net good literacy score, compared to 71% of those who do not.
