Financial planning appeals to only 21% of younger people as the ‘perception gap’ continues to be the main barrier for young talent entering the profession.
Financial consultancy The Lang Cat, with Morningstar Wealth, has today (13 January) published New Blood: creating career routes and removing barriers between young people and financial services. Based on YouGov research amongst 514 young people aged 17-23, 28% said they found a career in the financial services sector appealing, with only hospitality (23%) and accounting scoring lower (22%).
