Many pension savers fear having smaller pension pots under new salary sacrifice reforms, which were announced in the Autumn Budget, a survey from Pensions UK has found.
The survey of 1,588 working adults last month found two-thirds (62%) believed the changes to salary sacrifice proposed for 2029 - which introduce a £2,000 cap on National Insurance (NI) savings for all workers - would result in them paying more NI. Half (50%) said they expected to pay more tax, while a similar percentage (51%) said employers would pay more NI, and 46% said less money will arrive in their pension.
