Exclusive: Advisers expect more than half (54%) of their clients to be impacted by pensions falling within the scope of inheritance tax (IHT) from 6 April 2027 and to need advice as a result, according to a poll from Quilter.
With almost seven months remaining until implementation, the poll, surveying 939 independent advisers, found 42% of advisers said they feel ready and have a good understanding of the reforms. However, a further 37% have been engaging with the issue for some time but now recognise the changes are bigger and more complex than first anticipated, while 18% are only just starting on their journey to get prepared ahead of the new regime.
