A financial adviser has said he is taking his clients’ case to The Pensions Ombudsman after chasing a transfer from now defunct SIPP provider Hartley Pensions for the past ten months without success.
Chris Allen, managing partner at ACJ Financial Planning, acts for two members of a SSAS whose transfer away from Hartley – in special administration under UHY Hacker Young – has now been stalled for almost a year. Over that period a series of broken promises by Hartley means the members' assets, in excess of £2.7m according to Allen, have been effectively frozen, including property, investments and cash balances.
