L&G joins with HSBC UK in annuity access push

HSBC customers given direct access to L&G annuity service

Legal & General (L&G) has partnered with HSBC UK to give customers information and access to advice on annuities as they make retirement income decisions.

HSBC customers using its website now have access to the L&G annuity service and can directly apply for an annuity from the provider. They can also explore and apply for the best rates across the market, the provider explained. It added that if a customer required advice, they would be referred to HSBC UK's financial advice team. L&G said demand for annuities at retirement had returned in recent years, with the provider pointing out that it achieved record sales of more than £2bn in 2025.
