FCA data request prompts SimplyBiz's sector-wide compliance session

Nearly 600 advisers sign up for July webinar on navigating new s165 data requirements

SimplyBiz has rolled out a suite of resources to help financial advice firms respond to the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) latest sector-wide data request, as the regulator pushes to become more “data-led” in its supervisory approach.

The FCA's survey Information Request under s165 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 – Advisers and Intermediaries Sector was issued last week to all regulated firms employing advisers who carry out investment-related activities. In response, SimplyBiz has issued regular updates to its member firms and developed a guide to assist with compiling and submitting the required information. While much of the supporting documentation is available only to SimplyBiz's network, the group has also opened access to a virtual Compliance Clinic on 24 July, which has led to nearly 600 sign-up...
