Majority of un-advised with stock investments have no financial plan

‘Many are realising the need for expert financial support in later life’

Just over half (51%) of adults in the UK who hold stock market investments have no plan for how their assets will pass on to their dependents, Investec Wealth & Investment found.

The Rathbones-owned firm conducted a study of more than 1,000 adults in January, finding a need for advice and later life planning specifically across the board. Investec said its findings show retail investors "are focusing on the need for financial advice" in later life with many worried about managing their investments. Of those in the study who have stock market investments and are aged over 65, close to three-quarters (69%) have no plan for passing on their wealth.
