Majority of advisers see clients make financial decisions without them

Advisers suggest this is due to lack of client understanding about their role

The majority (92%) of financial advisers report clients make financial decisions without their knowledge, according to a recent survey by advice technology business Twenty7tec.

The survey of 250 UK financial advisers and wealth managers found that more than one-third of advised clients do not update their financial advisers on material information about changes in financial circumstances, with 31% of advisers suggesting this is because the clients lack understanding of their role and the support they can provide. It also found that advisers use tools for budgeting and expense tracking (37%), retirement planning (36%), and investment tracking (34%) as part of their offering.
