Adviser sanctioned by CII claims institute used 'bully boy tactics'

Yorkshire-based adviser suspended by PIMFA but complied with CII sanctions

West Riding Personal Financial Solutions managing director Neil Liversidge has hit back at the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) after he was sanctioned in June for a Tweet he posted in November last year.

Following a complaint by a member of the public and an eight-month long investigation, the Tweet was found by the CII to have been offensive. Liversidge told PA this week that he felt the institute used "bully boy tactics" during its investigation process. He said: "No fair-minded person would recognise the CII's investigation as an impartial enquiry to the facts. It started with a demand that I should confess speedily on the grounds that it would be better for everyone."
