Tilney S&W hires at least 26 financial planners since merger

Wealth management and professional services group Tilney Smith & Williamson has been on a recruitment drive, adding 23 financial planners to the team in 2021 and three so far in 2022.

In 2021, the firm also hired 15 new investment managers, bringing its headcount to just over 300 investment managers and around 260 financial planners, up from 120 investment managers and 200 financial planners pre-merger. In September 2020, Tilney and Smith & Williamson completed its merger and became the UK's third-largest asset manager based on revenues. The £45bn merger was delayed by both the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown and regulatory concerns over the outcome of the deal.
