Aviva Financial Advice managing director and UK life director Mary Harper has died "suddenly".

Harper joined the company in 2017 and became managing director of the life company's advice arm at the beginning of 2020 after two years as the firm's savings and retirement programme director. Before her time at Aviva she worked at Standard Life.  Aviva said Harper "transformed" its financial advice business, making it "highly efficient" and focused on ensuring clients received a first-class service.
