Bristol firm Aspirations Financial Planning has acquired Batcombe Financial Services, adding more than £30m in assets under management (AUM) along with more than 200 clients.

After more than two decades in operation, the sale of the business was a result of both of Batcombe's directors retiring. Batcombe was approached by a number of interested parties before being acquired by the Bristol business, Aspirations FP said. The acquirer, which now has £250m AUM, said it was chosen by Batcombe because of its commitment to servicing clients, its "market-leading" service and investment into software solutions.
