CII adds diversity requirement to Aspire apprenticeship scheme

Firms who want to sign up to the Chartered Insurance Institute's Aspire apprenticeship programme will now have to meet a diversity and inclusion requirement.

The incoming requirement includes a commitment to non-discriminatory hiring practices, but that aside, the professional body said it would not dictate the details of company diversity and inclusion policies, but said firms must have one. Since the CII launched the apprenticeship programme in 2017, a scheme that offers structured training to budding professionals, more than 500 firms have signed up to it.
