Surge in investment account openings on UK platforms A number of D2C investment platforms have reported a jump in account opening since the coronavirus crisis hit global stock markets, according to the FT. The Share Centre reported a 269% increase in account openings from 9 to 30 March, while Interactive Investor said it had seen an 119% spike in ISA accounts being opened from 18 February to the end of March compared to 2019. Vanguard UK said new account openings had tripled year-on-year in Q1. Hargreaves Lansdown would not reveal figures for new accounts, the FT said, but head of ...
