Pension funds down 20% and a call for a pension transfer ban - here's our weekly heads-up on the financial stories that may have caught your clients' attention over the weekend...

20% down - the pensions that promised to protect us Some pension funds claiming to offer "protection", "targets" or "guarantees" against market volatility have in some cases lost close to 30% of their value over the recent market setbacks The Sunday Times reports this weekend. Analysis carried out by AJ Bell found that, of 348 pension funds with "guarantee", "protection" or "target" in their name, 104 fell at least 20% in a month and a further 128 fell 10%-20%.
