Ascentric re-platforming known spend passes £100m

Ascentric has spent more than £100m on its long-term re-platforming project over the course of the last three years.

In its parent company Royal London's results this morning (21 March), it was revealed the life giant had spent some £28m on "an impairment relating to the new Ascentric platform" in 2018. This comes after it spent £31m on the long-term project in 2017 and £44m in 2016. The business began its project to change platform technology back in 2012 but it is not clear how much Ascentric spent on re-platforming before 2016. It originally planned to finish the technology switch in September 2015.
