Tilney agrees to buy Moore Stephens' UK wealth arm

Tilney is to buy the wealth management business of Moore Stephens, which has combined assets under advice of £340m in its core investment proposition, by way of a business transfer agreement.

The transaction will see 11 of the UK accountancy and advisory firm's staff transfer across to Tilney, five of whom are advisers. Tilney said the team would continue to work closely with Moore Stephens, supporting clients of the firm who require financial planning and investment management services. Moore Stephens' London-based team includes two partners - wealth management division head Stephen Humphreys, who has been with the firm since 1989, and James Springham, who has been with the business since 1999.
