Warning to advisers over suspected phishing scam

Advisers are 'rich pickings' for scammers

Advisers have been warned to watch out for a suspected phishing scam email from a 'Patricia Colette' that has been sent around several members of the advice community.

Phishing is the fraudulent practice of sending emails from a supposedly reputable company in order to gain personal information from the receiver.    The email, sent from ‘Patricia Colette' at ‘Flynn Group', has been sent to at least 16 advisers, and read: "Good morning, I need a comprehensive investment plan that would reinforce independent lifetime financial planning to achieve long-term goals, required now and for later in life based on my current net worth. "Whats your charging structure based on financial portfolio which i would sent to you to access and give your feed back [sic]...
