MiFID II and re-platforming 'not to blame' for Aviva technical issues

Aviva has said the technical issues advisers experienced on its platforms' websites on Thursday were not related to MiFID II nor its on-going re-platforming project.

The life company said advisers experienced technical issues "for a short period" on Thursday and apologised for inconveniences it caused. However, it said the issues were unrelated to the introduction of Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II (MiFID II) rules on 3 January, nor its re-platforming project, which it has struggled to complete.
