PortfolioMetrix has published a white paper that addresses questions financial advisers should consider about central investment propositions (CIPs) and the impact they could have on a business.

The paper - Winds of Change: Centralised Investment Propositions and Why Your Business Needs One - includes information on the definition of a CIP, an overview of the CIP options available, what to look for to ensure the CIP meets a firms' business needs, in-house versus outsources options and compliance issues. According to PortfolioMetrix, a CIP is a standardised investment approach that allows financial advisory firms to free up their time from fund picking and dealing with multiple product providers on an ad-hoc basis.
