Polar Capital to launch UK Value fund for Hamilton and Godber in January

Polar Capital is to launch the long-anticipated UK Value long-only UCITS fund for Georgina Hamilton and George Godber at the end of January 2017, as the group reports climbing AUM for the six months to 30 September 2016.

It was announced in April the pair would be joining Polar Capital but needed to serve notice periods for former employer Miton where they previously ran the UK Value Opportunities fund, which had grown to £870m. Hamilton landed at Polar in October, and will initially run the new fund single-handedly until Godber's arrival in April In the results, Tim Woolley, chief executive officer, said the firm has high hopes for the new UK mandate for the years to come: "Our UK Value long only UCITS fund will be launched at the end of January.
