AJ Bell appoints Ryan Hughes as head of fund selection

Ryan Hughes has been appointed head of fund selection at AJ Bell Investments.

In the newly formed role, Hughes will join the firm's team responsible for running the company's managed portfolio service for financial advisers launched last month. He will also focus on expanding the investment solutions offered by AJ Bell Investments, the firm's new investment arm created through acquisitions earlier this year. Hughes has previously worked as senior fund manager at Old Mutual Global Investors and he is arriving at AJ Bell from Apollo Global Management, where he was fund manager on a range of multi-asset portfolios.
