FCA paid £28k for plant watering last year

New figures show Edinburgh-London divide

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) paid £27,629 for someone to water the plants last year, according to new figures.

The regulator also spent £133,024 on catering for guests in the year to April, according to data obtained by the Money Mail through a Freedom of Information request. The expense paid for tea, coffee and water as well as meals and canapés. The figures indicated a sharp divide between the FCA's Canary Wharf headquarters and its satellite office in Edinburgh. While £23,114 was spent on plants at the London building, Scotland got a mere £4,514. The Canary Wharf office had also got a Christmas tree, while Edinburgh staff were given an extra £20.96 to spend on festive decorations. ...
