CISI creates head of financial planning role to promote CFP qualification

The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) has created a new role to lead its efforts to promote financial planning in the UK.

CISI is looking for a head of financial planning whose main objective will be to "help develop and implement the CISI's strategy to promote and increase the number of CFP professionals in the UK". The post will be open to candidates who have "extensive knowledge and experience within the financial planning environment", CISI chief executive Simon Culhane said. Although an advantage, it will not be mandatory for candidates to be Certified financial planners themselves.
